Looking of the current location of the PetersburgBenevolent Mechanic Association (PBMA) 1825-1921, original ledgers, the microfilm versions refer to the Petersburg Library as holding the originals., however they seem unable to locate them.

Lecture topics presented include Making History in Virginia; The Brig Creole Insurrection of 1841; Freed Blacks; Elizabeth Hobbs Keckly, Dr. Thomas Stewart, John Day, Thomas Day, of Dinwiddie County, Virginia; The "Keziah Affair" of 1858, in which a Delaware schooner was caught smuggling five slaves out of Petersburg, an example of the active Undergound Railroad in the area.
